Weight gain/loss, pregnancy, age, even body building – these and more are all things that can lead to stretch marks. A lot of people believe that once you have them, they are permanent as they appear. That’s not necessarily true.
While stretch marks don’t typically “go away” without serious intervention by a plastic surgeon or dermatologist. Really, most of what can be done is to make them less visible.
This happens naturally over time. The contrast between mark and the surrounding skin fades as the redness decreases with the passage of time. Sometimes sunless self tanners can help cover them up in ways that a natural tan or tanning beds cannot. These are essentially a temporary pigment. There are also a lot of creams and skin care products that help restore some of the elasticity and resilience to this skin.
It Works! has several products that can help reduce the visibility stretch marks and maybe even remove minor stretch marks. For more information on how wraps, defining gels, and special moisturizing creams can help you eliminate stretch marks, check out this page!
